CRSD is comprised of Cossatot River Primary School, Cossatot River Elementary School, and Cossatot River High School. Our Umpire Campus is an isolated K-12 campus in Howard County. We operate on a four-day week, so every weekend is a three-day weekend! The district is situated amongst a variety of beautiful, natural areas, including the Cossatot River State Park along the Cossatot River. The river itself is included in Arkansas's Natural and Scenic Rivers System and the National Park Service's list of National Wild and Scenic Rivers, making it a whitewater destination full of clear, cool creeks and swimming areas. The park is also home to camping and hiking attractions native only to the Ouachita Mountains and surrounding Ouachita National Forest. The Little Missouri River offers many more beautiful natural areas for hiking, swimming, and exploring. Nearby is the city of Mena, which includes the Talimena Scenic Drive, a National Scenic Byway, and the Queen Wilhelmina State Park. A short distance away is Hochatown, one of the country's fastest-growing recreational attractions. Explore these areas and check out our staff testimonials below to find out what makes CRSD Unique, United, and Cossatot River Strong!
Why Cossatot River School District?
Lisa Cowart
I am excited to be a part of CRSD because it is a growing and innovative district that promotes student success. It is a great family atmosphere and I am looking forward to working with some of the best people in the state. I can't wait to meet each of the students and get to know each and every one of them. It is my goal to make sure that our students grow and become the very best that they can be!

Cossatot River has the best people. From the administration to the supportive parents you couldn't ask for a better community to work in. My brother and sister teachers are more than colleagues, we are part of a work family. I love our people. We all have our students' best interests at heart, and we want to see them succeed. I feel blessed to be a part of Cossatot River School District.

Working for Cossatot River School District has allowed me to give back to the community that gave me such a great foundation growing up. I love having this opportunity to share my passion for education with my community's children. Collaborating with my colleagues and admins allows us to give each student whatever they need to succeed. I am so excited to watch them fly as they take on each new adventure and see what amazing things they do for our community in the future.

I am excited to be a part of CRSD. I have been a nurse for 8 years, part of that time as a pediatric nurse, and I am looking forward to bringing my knowledge with me to a school district that is growing and offering the children of our community a healthy, safe and fun learning environment.

I am proud to be a member of CRSD. All campuses at CRSD work to include parents, families, community, school staff, and students in decision making and beyond. At Umpire, the collaborative bond is a tradition and important to every school and community member.
