A benefit chicken dinner and auction will be held for the Cossatot River Middle School Archery Team on Saturday, April 28 in the Wickes Elementary Cafeteria starting at 4:00 p.m. All money raised will be used to help the team with expenses during upcoming trip to compete in the national archery tournament in Louisville, Kentucky. To-go orders will be available. We thank you for your support!

The Wickes Middle School Straight Shooters Archery Team for grades 6-8 has qualified to compete in the National Archery Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky in May. This is a significant honor as a lot of teams never qualify! These kids have worked extremely hard and have put in tons of practice time! This is only our fourth year to have archery at WES so we are very excited to have made it to this level! This will also be the last year for three of our archers to have this opportunity as 8th graders! Your support is GREATLY needed and appreciated! I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the Chicken Dinner and Benefit Auction THIS Saturday, April 28, at the Wickes Elementary Cafeteria. There will be chicken, baked beans, potato salad, rolls, and dessert! The dinner will begin at 4:00 and there will be to-go trays available. The auction starts at 6:00. There will be lots of goodies that you will not want to miss bidding on!! Cossatot River Ag Boosters will have a meeting at 6 P.M. on 4/19/18 in the CRHS Ag Building.

Van-Cove Preschool is now taking applications for the 2018/19 school year. Children ages 2 1/2 through 5 years old that do not meet the Kindergarten deadline are eligible. The fee is $60.00 a week or $12.00 a day if not enrolled full time. Applications may be picked in the Vandervoort Elementary office or you may call Sharon Sellers at 870-584-9826 if you have any questions. To register the following will be needed: Preschool Application Copy of Birth Certificate Copy of Social Security Card Copy of Immunization Record Preschool is an optimum time to provide care to children while promoting each child's intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development in an academic-rich environment.

Special Olympics Track and Field Event will be April 20th at the Mena football field. They are selling t-shirts as a fundraiser to help pay for expenses. Please let Nicole Evans; CRSD Special Olympic Coach, know if you want to order one. Orders are due by April 11, 2018. Make checks payable to CR Special Olympics. CRHS Band will be having a PIZZA HUT fundraiser. On April 11, Mena Pizza Hut will donate 25% of sales and DeQueen Pizza Hit will donate 15% of sales between 6-8 to the band. The money raised will go toward the Band Assessment trip in Midlothian, TX in May.

First Annual Band Carnival will be April 14th, 2 p.m.-5 p.m. at the Cossatot River High School. There will be games, bouncy house, rides and tacos. All proceeds go to CRHS band for their band festival in Midlothian, TX.

Ag Booster Club will be hosting a donkey basketball game and Indian Taco Dinner on April 6th at Cossatot River High School. Dinner starts at 5:00 with game following at 7:00. Tacos will be $5, tickets for game are $6 in advance and $8 at the gate.

A Special Board Meeting will be held in Little Rock at 2:00 P.M. today, February 28th. The location of the meeting will be at 1101 West 2nd Street, Little Rock, AR.

2018 BOYS baseball/t-ball registration! You can return forms to any Cossatot River office by Thursday, February 15th. There will also be a table set up at the Wickes Elementary on Saturday, February 17th from 4:30-6:30 pm. Must have a copy of the child’s birth certificate and a $35 registration fee. All schools of the Cossatot River School District will dismiss Monday and Tuesday, February 5th & 6th, due to the very high numbers of students absent with the flu. These two days will be AMI (Alternative Methods of Instruction) designated days. Your children will be required to complete take-home materials or online assignments as made available by their teachers. All schools will reopen on Wednesday, February 7th at their regular time.

The Cossatot River FFA Chapter will be taking money donations from 2/1/18-2/11/18 for the Arkansas Children’s Hospital. This money will be evenly distributed to families in need in the Cardiac Unit. Drop offs may be made at: Wickes Elementary School Office Union Bank- Wickes Cossatot River High School Office or Ag Department Vandervoort Elementary School Office.
