Cossatot River High School Junior and Senior Trap Shooting Teams were recognized last night at the August Board Meeting by Superintendent Tyler Broyles as the recipients of the Cossatot River Pride certificate.
The Cossatot River FFA Junior and Senior shooting sports team shoot through the Arkansas Game and Fish in the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program (AYSSP).
This program promotes hunter safety, outdoor conservation, communication skills, parental involvement, and a sense of team and self worth for the students.
This past school year, CRHS placed 2nd in the Southern District as a team. Two of our students individually placed in the Southern District and in State. Five members of the Junior Team qualified for State at the West Regional AYSSP Tournament. All of these accomplishments were at the Arkansas FFA Shooting Sports Contest in Jacksonville. The Arkansas FFA also has a Shooting Sports Contest in the Fall using AYSSP rules.
District Professional Development at Cossatot River School District was a huge success!! Special guests included Thomas Pennington and PLC Coaches Jim and Elaine Best. A complimentary breakfast was provided by American Fidelity and lunch provided by Tyson. A special shout-out to Simple Simons- Hatfield, Scotty’s, The Coffee Vault, Baja Rios, The Lighthouse, and Adley & Co.for your continuous support and staff door prizes. Cossatot River High School will be conducting schedule changes online only from August 2, 2021 8:00 AM through August 6, 2021 at 4:00 PM. Students will not be able to change their schedule after this time. To view their schedule, students will need to log into HAC. Watching your child grow and develop is one of the joys of parenthood. Sometimes you may notice your child can’t do the same things that other children his or her age can do. Don’t panic-there’s help.
Call your local school district or the local education service cooperative for information on services available for children or adolescents ages birth to 21 years, who have special needs.

Attention Cossatot River Special Education Parents:
State and Federal Guidelines mandate that all special education due process forms and records be destroyed 6 years after a student has exited the special education program. This includes any speech therapy or related services.
If your child was dismissed, graduated, dropped from the program, or found to be ineligible in the 2014-15 school year, records will be destroyed this year. You or your child (as rights are transferred to the student at the age of 18) has the right to review or copy these records before they are destroyed. If you wish to view the records before destruction please call LEA Special Education Supervisor Kelli Parson at (870) 386-2251. Records which are not picked up will be destroyed on August 15, 2021.
THESE RECORDS ARE NOT YOUR CHILD’S PERMANENT SCHOOL RECORDS. THESE ARE SPECIAL EDUCATION DOCUMENTS ONLY.
If you still have a CRSD issued student device (Laptop, Chromebook, Hotspot) please return these to one of the school offices by Friday June 18th. Any devices not returned by this date will be reported to local authorities for collection.
