Cossatot River Preschool enjoyed learning about Groundhog’s Day. They made their predictions and the majority of the class was right, no shadow this year.

Congratulations to Dani Atchley for receiving the Rotary Youth Leadership Award! The District 6170 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an intensive leadership and teamwork training program for youth (rising sophomores or juniors in high school ages of 16 and 17), from the geographic region of Rotary District 6170 (South and East Arkansas). RYLA introduces Rotary’s “Service Above Self” philosophy, and the curriculum includes a personality self-assessment, team building activities, and a service project simulation. This program helps youth develop character, increase leadership skills, and learn about Rotary. Dani will be attending the RYLA program this summer at the Arkansas 4-H Vines Center. Again, congratulations Dani!

The following are amendments to the 2023-2024 school calendar as Monday makeup days for the days we missed due to inclement weather. These are considered student instruction days where attendance will be counted for staff and students. Using Mondays before state testing starts instead of adding the days to the end of the year will help us ensure we maximize quality instruction to makeup the days. Contact the building principal if you expect any issues.
We also added five days to the end of the 2023-2024 calendar as makeup days just in case we have to miss more days and so we would not have to amend the calendar again. These five days at the end of the year are just in case we need them later. See below:
1) February 19, March 11, and April 15 to make up the 3 days
missed for inclement weather. The Umpire campus will add April 1 to
makeup for a day due to the city's water line break.
2) Add 5 days to the end of the calendar to use if needed in the
event that more days are missed. Those days will be May 17, May 21-
24.
24.
